Valgroup develops recyclable and biodegradable bags for AmBev’s startup, Delivery Zé.

Valgroup – one of the largest producers, transformers and recyclers of plastic packaging – has developed recyclable bags with degradation, biodegradation and absence of harmful residues, with approval criteria contained in the ASTM D6954 standard to supply to Delivery Zé, – a startup created by the Brazilian beverage company AmBev – which offers an app focused on the delivery of beverages.

Valgroup has been handing the bags for AmBev since July of this year. With recurring supply to the demanding company, taking full advantage of the benefits that plastic bags have brought to retail.

According to a Datafolha survey, in the last decade, 93% of the users of plastic bags tend to dispose the product for recycling or reuse, especially for disposing garbage. This shows how it is possible to offer consumers an alternative use for a product which is by default delivered along with their merchandise.

For Valgroup, developing this solution reinforces its sustainable commitment. The company has strong ESG positioning, committing to being NET ZERO by 2040, neutralizing carbon emissions and recycling the equivalent of 100% of the amount of packaging produced, effectively contributing to the circular economy by removing plastic waste from the environment.

According to Valgroup’s Business Manager, Pelayo Magraner, the bags respect the principles of sustainability with ecological, social and economic benefits.

“Our plastic bags ensure the safety and transportation of the product being shipped and are an extremely efficient solution both in terms of cost and sustainability, as they can be reused. Our processes and modern industrial site ensure compliance with the ABNT Standard 14937.”

Zé Delivery has already delivered 44 million orders in 2021, it is present in all Brazilian states and expanding in other directions as well. An option for the purchase of beverages, which have utilized high quality Valgroup bags since July 2022.
